Have you ever asked God to "go easy" on you? I have. In essence I've said to Him, "There are certain trials that are out of bounds for me."

How can we possibly ask to our Heavenly Father to make us like Him and yet ask Him to keep our lives free from serious trial? It's like asking a teacher to give us all the knowledge of the class, but to never require any attendance or work on our part. The attendance and work are the very things that create the knowledge. Your trials, pains, difficulties, and even tragedies are a vital part of your mortal education - your purpose. When life seems to be ripping slowly and painfully through your heart, reach out to your loving Teacher. Ask Him in faith, what He would have you learn. Only then can you accept and rise above your trials and allow them to educate and change you.
