It’s virtually impossible to not get caught up in our culture’s comparison based value. You receive hundreds of subtle messages every day which point out your weaknesses. You’re not as smart as him, or as pretty as her, not as adventurous as him, not as well-spoken as her, not as good of a mom as her, or not as healthy as him. It’s a hailstorm of lies. Most of these messages come from people who want you to buy their product, which will somehow make you feel better about who you are. But when you look in the mirror, try to see what the Lord sees. He sees value, talent, beauty, creation, intelligence, humility, and courage. He sees the real you and all you are going to become.
