I love goals and resolutions because they are pointed toward the future. The past is too stubborn to change, but the future is ready to be shaped. Whatever your hopes and dreams are for the coming year, look to the past for its lessons and guidance and then face forward. My dad used to tell me, "We drive through windshields, not through rear-view mirrors." So while it may be helpful to glance at the past, don't miss the beautiful future that is right in front of you.
