Listening
Try this today: tell someone you love that you’d like to practice listening for 10-15 minutes. Then ask them to talk about anything while you do your very best to not offer solutions, alternatives, or get defensive. Just reflect back what they say and try to give them 100% of your attention. After 10-15 minutes, thank them for helping you practice. I’m hoping you’ll find what I have found to be true: what air is to the lungs, listening is to the soul.
