I’m all for goals, health, and achievement. We should all try to improve every day. But just like most good things, too much focus on improving and achieving can become unhealthy. You may begin to slowly find more and more about yourself that you don’t like. You start to insult your body, your mind, and your personality. You may hang on to past mistakes way after their expiration date. You eventually come to a place where you hate everything about the person in the mirror.
You are beautiful, wonderful, and glorious just as you are. You have divinity in your spirit and body. Universes, planets, and the beauty of this entire earth are nothing compared to you. God’s finale of creation was His most beautiful and most impressive work, human beings, you and me. So yes, progress, yes achieve, yes learn and grow and repent, but don’t demean, insult, or criticize God by demeaning, insulting, or criticizing His best work: you.
