We sometimes make the mistake in thinking the Lord doesn’t know what to do to help those who we feel have left the path. The Lord prepared for Joseph Smith’s and Martin Harris’ mistake 2500 years before it happened. I’m confident He has likewise prepared for our mistakes or the mistakes of those we love. When Mary and Martha thought Lazarus was past the point of no return, he was exactly where the Lord knew he would be. When Jehoshaphat thought he was heading into a losing battle, he was actually marching toward an easy victory. We can learn from what the Lord told him before he left with his army. “The battle is not yours, but God’s.”
