He's absolutely right. There is great purpose in your problems and trials. Job could speak powerfully on endurance and loss. Joseph of Egypt could tell us some things about life-changing betrayal. Moses could write a book on lacking confidence. Esther could tell us about being overwhelmed with fear. Sariah could teach us about being worried, stressed, and tired. Nephi could talk to us about broken bows and hurtful family members. Peter could tell us about embarrassing mistakes. Thomas could give a pretty good talk on doubt. Abinadi and Amulek could speak on trials and tragedies. Samuel the Lamanite could tell us about rejection. Moroni could give quite a sermon on despair and loneliness. Martin Harris would be an expert on having an undeserved bad reputation. Joseph Smith and Brigham Young could both speak on being misunderstood and mistreated. Emma Smith could teach us about losing children to death. The list could go on and on.
Most importantly, the Savior himself could tell us what it is like to be hated, spit on, and attacked. So if you are struggling, keep your chin up, you are standing shoulder to shoulder with the best of the best.
