I think back on the hardest times of my life and I want to reach out backward through the years and comfort my past self. Just to let him know he’ll be okay, that he hasn’t been abandoned, and that there are friends, miracles, and incredible joys ahead of him. Regret, despair, and heartbreak cannot last forever. Yes, the pain does change you, but it will not break you. Through the grace of God you can create beauty out of the ashes.
