A few years ago I had an idea for a new talk I called Being Happy in an Unhappy World. The idea came to me after I met Kris Belcher, the happiest woman I had ever met. Kris inspired me to be better, to be happier, and to face trial with cheerful resolution. Kris passed away last night. The last text she sent me was thanking me for my support. Had I known it would be my last response to her I would’ve responded, “No Kris, I should be the one thanking you. You’ve done far far more for me than I ever could do for you.”
