Have you ever been praying and wondered how God could possibly hear you when there are so many others in the world who are praying at the same time? I think that is why God frequently tells us that His ways are not our ways. He has said that there are many things which are impossible for us to understand, but not difficult for Him to understand.
I think you'll enjoy this thought from Henry Eyring Sr (father of President Henry B. Eyring). Dr. Eyring was a brilliant scientist and world famous chemist. When talking about his own accomplishments he said, "All [God] does is reach out his hand and pat me on the head and say, 'That's a nice little fellow. It's nice that you try.' I think he cares about how I treat my fellowmen and is not very much impressed with the rest."
The next time you doubt the Lord's ability to know you intimately, be sure to recognize that something that seems impossible to you, is likely simple to Him. The limits we place on God are often not a result of evidence of Him lacking ability, but our own weakness and lack of understanding. Believe that He knows you and loves you because He does.
