Obviously this does not apply in any form of an abusive relationship. With that said, we could all love our spouse better. Love is not a feeling. It is a verb. You choose to love. You choose can choose to be a source of discouragement or a source of energy for your spouse.

Paul taught to love your spouse like Christ loved the Church. The Savior knew all our imperfections and still gave His life for us. We probably know our spouse’s imperfections better than anyone and, like Jesus, we can choose to give our life to them anyway.
