If 2018 taught my family anything, it is the difference between loving with words only and loving with words and actions. Isaiah said it best: You draw near unto me with your lips, but your heart is far from me.

Yet there are those who back up what they say by their actions. Hold to those type of people. Whether they are related to you or not, they are your family. They are your people. Give them your best time and energy.

Yes, pray for your enemies, but no, don’t enable any form of manipulation or abuse. Being a Christian does not require you to allow people to hurt you or those you love. We are required to look for a way be kind and forgiving, but we not required to stand by and watch someone destroy the lives of those they claim to love.

So be loyal to those who are loyal and stop crossing oceans for those who wouldn’t jump a puddle for you.
