Comparison

Why do we compare and compete so aimlessly with one another? Why do we obsess over clothes, looks, vacations, wealth, weight, or any other way to be "better" than others? Why do we criticize, verbally attack, and find fault in those we claim to care about? Why do we patrol each other’s obedience?

If I were the adversary I think I'd try to get God's children to forget about me by getting them to fight and compete relentlessly with each other. I'd get them to gossip about each other instead of discussing the real evil in the world. If I could get them to base their value on looking better than each other, siblings to try to outperform each other, church members to try to out-do each other, and religious people to constantly compare righteousness, I could probably have my way while they all aimlessly argue.

Don’t forget who our enemy really is.
