In Luke 7:44, the Savior asks Simon the Pharisee about a “sinner” who had just entered the room. He asks, “Do you see this woman?” I believe he was saying, “I know you think you see her Simon, but you don’t really see her. You see a sinner, but I see her history, her effort, her genetics, her suffering, her goodness, the abuse she has endured, the friends who betrayed her, and her hopes & dreams. I see her. Try to see her Simon. See more than just her sins.” We can do that with each other. We can try to truly see each other.
