In the Come Follow Me manual this week it says, “ponder how you can follow the Prophet Joseph’s example when you study the scriptures. You might ask Heavenly Father, ‘What am I to understand?’”

One of the most difficult and most rewarding practices in life is real scripture study. Steady and deliberate reading often leads to better questions and more in depth research. I have never been afraid of a student studying the scriptures or church history or doctrine too much. The problems always come when they know and study too little.

Elder Maxwell said the scriptures are a mansion with rooms you’ve never seen and fireplaces that could be warming you. It’s time to venture beyond the entryway.
